During the catastrophic Atlantic hurricane season of 2017, I decided to dedicate a William Woods University biology blog post to the science behind these deadly natural disasters with the hope of giving students a greater understanding of the factors that go into their formation, how they’re classified and the true power they hold.

This seemed like a job for more than your standard blog post, so I pitched the idea of creating an infographic to our talented designer, Krystal Duke, and we got to work. The following infographic is the result of Krystal’s talented design work and my copy and concept.
